Shkai'ra

From across the Lannic Ocean, from the barbarian nation of Amerkun, hails the violent Kommanza, Shkai'ra Mek Kermak's-kin. She is of the highest caste of the Zekz Kommanz; shi carries herself with the pride of bearing the godsborn Mek Kermak blook.

She is tall and copperhaired, with features possessing a savage beauty. Her slanted gray eyes are cool and calm from above the sharp slant of her high cheekbones. Her nose is long and thin with a single golden ring pierced through one nostril. Her strong jaw tapers to a pointed chin. Her rare flashing smile shows white even teeth bright with her eyes against the weathered tan of her skin. Most commonly she wears the "Barbarian" garb of her people: a worn horsehide jacket and warm chamois pants, a head band to keep her warrior's briads back, leather arm guards, and a double layered vest.

Her blade is of Kommanz origin, a brass eagle head adorning its hilt, bound by bone plaques. Upon observing her hands, one most often noticies the thick wrists, the strong capable fingers and the vivid thin white scars crisscrossing the back. Each movement is affected with a sort of lazy grace, like a leopard capable of quick movement to affect pain upon another.

Occasionally, she will wear a cormorenc claok. Created from the crushed feathers of the large nearly extinct cormorenc, an eightfoot tall jetblack bird-beast, the fabric is extremely light and flexible. In shadows it appears near black, while in light it is a shifting green gray color.

There are many myths surrounding the Kommanza people. Many of which portray them as a savage uncivilized race, taking scalps, drinking the blood of their enemies and notching their belt with kills. In Shkai'ra's case, all of the above are true. But only when circumstances push that far. She is peaceful unless provoked.

Recently, she became the Mindbonded of a Ri, whom she has named Hotblood. The Ri stallion stands 18 hands tall at the shoulder, as tall as a 6ft man. Ri are known as the "Black whirlwind of the steppe". The front feet are clawed and padded, like a cats. With a narrow, wedge-shaped head, like that of a Thoroughbred's, is set with two wild green eyes, forward on the skull for excellent binocular vision, the eyes of a killer, of a carnivore. The stallion scream is a shrill challenge, with the undertone of a hiss. Bared in battle or in anger are the two massive man-eater fangs in the naw and the shearing row of teeth behind them. It's scent is heavy with musk and fear enrages it. It's coat is black, striped with darker black. The man and tail are flying, satin-smooth curtains of platinum white so clean it's nearly silver.

When a Ri communicates with his Bonded (all Ri that Bond are male) the words run together (set off by # # in chat) and are sometimes accompanied by wordless images. The Ri's world division consists of : "Edible" and "herd/us".

Also accompanying Shkai'ra is an orange tabby flitterkitten, named, in Kommanza, Poivrkin, or Fishook. Often this 'kitten can be found lounging on her shoulder, it's monkeylike tail wrapped loosely around Shkai'ra's neck. Folded tightly against its sides are two brown leatherlike flaps that were once the cat's front legs. Now highly adapted, these legs have become wings, threefoot long batstyle wings. With two small catching claws along the leading bone of the long fingerbones, the wing is mearly flaps of skin stretched between the bones.
